The city of Inglewood, CA is suing a law firm that represented it in a civil lawsuit against ex-police officers Jeremy Morse and Bijan Darvish. The lawyers for the policemen convinced a the court that the two officers were discriminated against in the 2002 brutal arrest of teenager Donovan Jackson.
Morse and darvish were awarded $1.6 million, $811,000 respectively for their lawsuit in 2003.
We're concerned about the verdict and the outcome of the case. We believe that there were some things that should have happened differently. This case is in litigation so I'm not going into the details of this case. It's on a contingency basis. We don't pay any attorney fees unless we win."
Morse and Darvish claimed that Willie Crook, a black officer who struck the teenager off-camera, was treated differently. Click on this link for more information on this legal malpractice suit.
