In Cloumbia, SC Frank Robertson was awarded $5.5 Million for bad legal advise, which he received from Nexsen, Pruet, Adams, Kleemeier.
Frank Robertson contended that wrong advice from Columbia-based Nexsen Pruet Adams Kleemeier cost him between $1.4 million and $2.1 million in business, plus approximately $300,000 in legal costs and fees, said Robert Rikard of Columbia, one of Robertson's lawyers.
Robertson claims that he worked for Machine Design, Inc., developing a commercial pecan nutcracking machine for about six years. Upon leaving this company, he wanted to start his own nutcracking machine company. He received lagal advise from Nexsen Pruet concerning patents that were held by MDI. The advice was proved wrong in court. To find more information on this legal malpractice suit, check out this link.
